Benchmark methodology

A benchmark is only useful when its source, comparison unit, sample, freshness, and uncertainty remain attached to the result.

Publication status

Aggregated benchmark snapshots are not currently published from contributed quotes.

Provider and tier verification are not live public capabilities. Existing walkthroughs may use illustrative examples, while official public pricing must carry its own source and observation date.

Evidence classes

Three labels, three different claims.

The product should make evidence type visible before offering an interpretation.

Official public pricing

Public-source evidence

A vendor-published list price observed at a source URL on a stated date.

Useful as a public baseline; not evidence of a negotiated market rate.

Future negotiated cohorts

Not currently published

A future aggregate of eligible, unique, privacy-reviewed contributed quotes.

Requires comparable verified dimensions, minimum sample size, freshness, and release review.

Illustrative examples

Sample data

Synthetic values used to explain a calculation or interface state.

Never presented as an observed list price or negotiated benchmark.

Future release path

Qualification happens before aggregation.

These gates describe what a negotiated cohort must pass. They are not a claim that a cohort is available today.

  1. 01

    Establish eligibility

Only an approved, unique quote with the required source evidence can enter a future release calculation.

  2. 02

    Normalize the unit

Price is converted to the quote's canonical comparison metric, currency, and billing basis without guessing missing terms.

  3. 03

    Build a comparable cohort

Product, tier or edition, billing basis, term, and seat band must align. Missing dimensions are withheld rather than inferred.

  4. 04

    Apply privacy gates

A public cohort requires at least 10 eligible normalized prices; small cohorts are suppressed and differencing risk must be reviewed.

  5. 05

    Publish qualified context

Any future range must state source type, sample size, freshness, unit, and confidence so the reader can judge its limits.

Public-release boundary

No raw quote details or verbatim quote text are included in a public benchmark; submitter and customer identity are excluded. Percentile ranges are descriptive and informational only. They are not legal, financial, or procurement advice.
